When I fo a file scan, will HomeDJ update the MP3 files with fingerprint data, or make any other changes? If not, does it still need write access to the music folders? Edited by user Monday, August 12, 2013 12:55:07 AM(UTC)

No. HomeDJ does not make any changes to original music files or folders. It has its own folder where it stores only TAG information and pointers to original songs.
This folder located under HomeDJ Installation folder /Libraries/MyLibrary folder.
You will see there is hashed files with the size about 2K. Each file will have fingerprint data including path to the original file as well its file metadata.
