On my note 3 running jelly bean 4.3 recently I've noticed that the volume Will change from track to track. One will be normal then the next will be really quiet.

While in Player Screen, which displays artwork and buttons, if you click "Equalizer" button or select "SoundFX Equalizer" from top tri-dot menu, does it show equalizer screen? And if it does, is equalizer activated? Also what type of Equalizer does it show?

If you are not using equalizer, try to set the following option in HomeDJ Settings:
Settings->Advanced->Disabled SoundFX. Check this option ON to disable SoundFX control.
I would suggest restarting HomeDJ after changing this option.

Does it happen consistently for any album, or artist? Were you able to play the song which was quite separately and see if it plays with normal volume?
When you are in the Player screen, when you click titlebar tri-dot icon to display Popup menu, is item "SoundFX Equalizer" disabled?

Try this option.... In HomeDJ Settings turn Internal Streaming ON. To do that in your HomeDJ Android App go: Settings->Advanced->Use Internal Streaming (check this option ON). Edited by user Saturday, April 12, 2014 10:49:25 AM(UTC)

I uninstalled and reinstalled and seems to be OK for the time being. I'll let you know if it happens again.

Have you tried suggestion I posted above?
What kind of ROM do you have? Stock (original), Custom, such as Cyanogenmod? Have you tried to play just one song, which was low volume separately, but doing direct search for this son and just play it from Search Result list? Was it playing at low volume too?
What version of HomeDJ are you running? To check go in HomeDJ->Settings->About.

Please try latest version 4.3.1. Let me know if Volume problem still exists. New version of Dekstop Streaming Server is also posted. It will normalize volume between tracks. Let me know if you still experiencing issues.
Please make sure you clear Cached and Downloaded songs in Android HomeDJ Streamer, so it will re-download normalized songs. |
Thank you.

Will try the new desktop server when I get home. As of today if I turn on internal streaming I get a stuttered playback, if I turn it off volumes are all over the place. Phone is completely stock. As of right now it's hard to even use homedj. Please help.

It seems like it's something to do with the shuffle playback or something. When I listen to a Playlist in shuffle it does it randomly, if I go to the same song and play it from the folder it plays fine.

Edit to last post. Does it on Playlist playback regardless of shuffle or not. Fade turned off. Not sure with fade turned on.

If you click "Pause" and after song is paused click "Play", does it restore volume to normal or still the same lowered volume? |
Thank you.

Are you running stock ROM? If custom ROM, what kind? Are you rooted? Do you have the following Equalizers installed? Viper4Android, DSPManager, Equalizer
When you go to Device Settings, in Settings->Sounds->Music Effects - what Music Effect application is selected?
Try another option in HomeDJ: HomeDJ Settings->Advanced->Use Internal Streaming - CHECK ON (restart HomeDJ application)

Could you go to you phone settings: Settings->Application manager slide to the screen for "All" and scroll to the application called: MusicFX Click on this application and "Clear Data" and "Clear Cache"
Restart HomeDJ and see if volume problem still exists.

No. And now I'm getting such a stuttered playback I uninstalled the app. Guess I'll have to find something else to use.

What Steaming Quality setting did you have in HomeDJ? Could it be that high quality setting was preventing HomeDJ to buffer enough data to play song uninterrupted due to a slow connection either from your Home PC or your Mobile data?
For testing I spend each day with different phone playing several hours straight. Testing lower end phones to high end phones, such as Galaxy Note 3, S4 and S3.
I tried to run in background Virus checks and other heavy IO application, and HomeDJ did not get a single interruption of playback when screen was off or going off.
I had a few blips, while running some widgets, such as Experia Digital Clock widget and BatteryBot, when playback was interrupted each minute playing over Bluetooth only in my car. Playing over Bluetooth headphones did not have this issue.
Because I cannot replicate the problem, the only fix I can think of is a guessed fix, which I will try to put in next releases. |
Thank you.
