Support for Audiobooks will be coming in the next release of HomeDJ Streaming Server as well as Android HomeDJ Player/Streamer.
Also plans were to implement support for editing playlists and adding songs to different playlists.
Please vote what you want to see first.

I'm not sure where to ask this, I guess this is as good a place as any......But, I am curious how you were planning on implementing playlist/track order editing.
Will it be drag and drop? Or a move song up/down button? Will it all be done from the queue, or from the playlists menu?
I've seen playlist editing done several different ways in other various apps. So I was just wondering what you had in mind.

I am personally do not edit playlists because my playlists are usually MIXes.
Drag and drop on the phone screen is not very convenient.
Move up and down is not very convenient either.
What I am working on is to have ability to multi-select songs in playlist and then click button/icon Move, which will show another window with the same playlist and you will select after or before what song you want to move selected items in bulk. I think is it much faster approach, but may be with combination of drag and drop it would be ideal. Do drag and drop for a quick move on item and bulk move for multiple items.
On bigger screens (tablets) it would be a split screen with drag and drop between these screens. |

Excellent ideas! Especially about moving bulk songs the way you described. I don't think I've ever seen that done before; that would be interesting. Personally, I've always preferred drag and drop because when it works correctly it is the easiest/quickest way (to me).
Can't wait to try out the new playlist features when you get them finished. Not to seem impatient, but any guess on when that might be? We talking weeks or months?

Playlist editing: drag to sort and slide to delete is under final stages of development. Could be released in the next Player version 4.5.0. |
