I just installed the desktop server, disabled UAC and forwarded the port on my router. Connection status says "Connection OK (Direct Mode)". I already restarted my computer and the service is running. Clicking check again just confirms the same status. I added one music folder (removed the deafult one), Threads is set to 1 and Scan Mode is Fast. I clicked Start Folder Scan, and nothing is happening. Analyzer status on the Library Status page is not doing anything, everything is 0, same on Library status. Tried 2 Threads and other Scan Modes. Tried a different music folder. Nothing is happening. The folders I'm selecting have a bunch of sub folders with .MP3 files in them, fully ID3-tagged. Edited by user Tuesday, December 17, 2013 7:44:23 AM(UTC)

Could you check Windows Event Viewer:
Start->Control Panel->Administrative tools->Event Viewer->Applications.
HomeDJ is recording Information, Warnings and Errors under Sources: HomeDJ Server HomeDJ Scanner
Do you see any errors there?

Thank you.

When you installed HomeDJ, did you select Muzecast user or System user. It looks like permissions issues to run libscan.exe. |
Thank you.

I will look at how it could be prevented. For now you could just open command prompt, navigate to the folder where HomeDJ is installed and run command "libscan"
For example, you installed HomeDJ on D: drive in "HomeDJ" folder; Open command prompt, and type the following commands:
D: CD \HomeDJ libscan
If you have HomeDJ installed on C: drive then commands will looks like this:
C: CD \HomeDJ libscan
The issue you are having that HomeDJ Service unable to start libscan when Configurator sends command to the Service to start Folder Scan.
I will change it to start directly from Configurator. |
Thank you.

Issue should be fixed.
Please update HomeDJ Streaming Server (desktop app) to a new 3.6.1 version.

Thank you.

Ok, so I updated, but it still behaved the same. I manually ran libscan from the command prompt and it started scanning.
