This morning 2/4/25 when I went to open Muzecast I got an error:

Application Not Licensed
This application is not licensed. Please
purchase it from the Google Play Store.
Exit | Buy App

When I click on buy app I get a message:
Something went wrong
Try Again
When I press "Try Again" nothing happens.

I've already bought the app but I will be happy to buy it again to keep it going. I use Muzecast everyday as it's the best music server there is.

Yep, same here.
Also, it would appear that the app has been pulled from both the Playstore and the Amazon store too. The windows app is still available here and the copyright year has been changed to 2025, so not sure what's going on.

I do hope this doesn't disappear, as it's my go to music app.
TBH, I'd happily pay a reasonable amount for this to be a subscription. A one time purchase of the app is never going to cover any server costs.
Fingers crossed 🤞 it's not dead for god.

John

Yes, same is happening to me.
Tried opening the app tonight and got that message, application not licensed. Options are to exit or click to buy. I've already bought it and have been using it for years--though I would be happy to pay for it again as it's the best music streaming app out there--but when I try to do so it says, Something went wrong, try again.
Issues crop up from time to time, so I sure hope this is just temporary. It seems this app has been in some weird sort of limbo for years now, as it's no longer on the play store.

I found that if I don't click on "exit" or "buy app" I can still use it with Android Auto.

I have the same "Application Not Licensed" problem, which I'm gutted about, as now I can't stream my music to the various devices around my home.
I originally paid for Muzecast, however my wife's version is still working and she has the "free" version (with adverts).
How strange !!

I'm getting the same error message and this is seriously devastating.

I've been fearing that this day would come and I've searched high and low for a replacement app and I cannot find anything, at any price,
that works as well as Muzecast and has the same features.

The closest thing I can find is Plexamp, which, luckily, is free. What I can't stand about it is its clunky folder navigation. There's no elegant alphabetized tabs to quickly browse folders as in Muzecast. And then when you locate a folder, you cannot play the contents of it.

Please bring Muzecast back! I've relied on it for more than a decade and I depend on its specific features to prepare for a weekly two our music podcast. It is so much harder to do with Plexamp!

Unfortunately Google removed my account from Play Store. I am trying to resolve this issue, but it is not guaranteed that it could be successful. Please send me direct message with your email and I will send you installation package, which does not require Google License and without ads
Thank you.

Thanks Oleg !!!

This worked for me:
Put your phone in airplane mode, open the Muzecast app and put it in offline mode
Turn off airplane mode
Open that app back up and click on go online
I'm now connected to my home server and I can use Muzecast

Hello.
As per your message on the forum, please could you send me the android app that doesn't require the license?
I hope this all works out for you and this is seriously the best solution for streaming that I have found.
You may want to consider, if possible, charging an annual service fee, say $10 or whatever which I'm sure people will happily pay. It will help with the server costs.
Btw, there is a workaround. Turn off all internet access (4/5G and WiFi) on your phone.
Open app and go into offline mode. Turn back on the 4/5G and WiFi and the go into online mode on the app.
It's a bit clunky to do it this way, but it works.

Regards

John

Same!

I usually make a yearly donation (when I remember) and always hope for updates.

I rarely go beyond 'Shuffle All' mode, but I've still found nothing similar that just works with such minimal setup.
