Hello,

I have been using Muzecast for several months now and I am very happy, I have the paid version and everything etc etc.

The one thing that does bug me, is that I can't connect directly to my own server - first I have to connect to the Muzecast server(s). I can think of a couple of reasons this exists:

1) A lot of people won't have static IP addresses and it solves routing issues
2) It ensures people have to sign up and be put through the servers

here are some of the reasons I'm not a huge fan:

1) I have a domain name (with auto DNS updates); I don't need help routing
2) I don't want the Muzecast servers to go down and I can't access my music
3) If Muzecast disappears forever, I will have to start again with my server architecture etc
4) I'm automatically suspicious of anything that could be done directly that isn't

Is this something that can be added in? I wouldn't mind paying for a Desktop server version that allows my android app to directly connect to the server. You could still have a login on the desktop version for updates or something if that's a big issue.

Thanks for reading,
nixius

I think if you set a manual port and then in the app go to setting -> Home Computer you can add click the server settings and add a IP address there.

Well, I did not know that was an option. I have put the relevant details in and it seems to connect fine! Thanks a lot for that.

Does this mean if the Muzecast servers are down I can still connect? I imagine it should, but the 7 steps when I launch the App go so quick I can't see what it's doing!

It still depends on Muzecast Central API Server.

Project is under development to have clients running their own Muzecast API Server which would not depend on Muzecast Central Server. So if Muzecast Central Server is down clients, who is running their own API Server will continue to work.

Approximate delivery time for Client Muzecast API Server is July 1 2016.
Thank you.

Thank you, I will look forward to this addition. Is this planned to be integrated into the existing desktop software as an option?

Both, Player and Streaming Server will have an option to switch between Central server or private API server.
Thank you.

Yes. It will be added (direct connect) and it is delayed for now, but it will be added. Reliability for Muzecast Servers is very good. Plugged off for every - no way. But the option to have fully independent Muzecast Server at home is in progress. Not as fast as I hoped for, but it is in progress. Some requests are getting ahead of the queue which delays this feature.
Thank you.

Just another bump for this to see how it's progressing, I'm still using this software and would love for this feature to be added.

Cheers!

That development progress now in the queue but with lesser priority. Currently higher priority is to integrate with Cloud drives, such as Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive and others.

After that I will put higher power on Web streaming via My Muzecast website to add more features to it and move it from Alpha to Beta status.

Thank you.

Still a very happy Muzecast user, has there been any movement on this request?

I'd happily pay for it as an additional extra.

I'm still very keen on this, happy to pay for it as a premium option.

Also I'm a software engineer so happy to develop it myself and you can keep it lol

Bumping this!
I use the direct connection feature anytime that I'm able. But if I'm correct even direct needs to connect to the Muzecast servers to work. Is there still a standalone feature or something similar being developed that allows direct connection without needing Muzecast servers?
Thanks in advance.
