Using the Android app it seems that the resolution of the artwork is quite low. I have 90% of my albums tagged with high quality artwork, but when it appears on the locksreen, it very pixalliated. I can't see any setting to fix it. Also for me mobile data is not an issue, due to an unlimited account

Yep, no issue. I'll PM you a dropbox link. I have inluded the flac file and the cover.jpg file. However i believe that there is also an embedded image.

I tried that file and rendered at resolution 300px. Try to clear Artwork cache and see if it renders with better resolution. What device displayed artwork pixelated? Edited by user Saturday, March 12, 2016 12:43:27 PM(UTC)

Thanks it's a nexus 4. Here are two images of album art. One in Muzecast other in Dsub (subsonic client) Muzecast image https://goo.gl/photos/rhm7fnGQenbtFQoV7Dsub image https://goo.gl/photos/WWGEzBoYguccNmer9To me the muzecast image looks like a compressed jpg and while the dsub looks washed out it doesn't look blocky or compressed. I am not trying to be a pain, sorry if it seems i am Thanks Rich EDIT: IS there anyway to reorder where artwork is taken from, so if the Tag version has low res but cover.jpg is higher? Sorry about the late reply, but had a good chance to test this out now and artwork looks great in media views ( album/ artist etc) however it still looks pixelated on my lock screen.
Also cache of artwork can seem temperamental, for example sometimes it appears, however if I lose connection while a track is playing it will sometimes go to the placeholder icon. Also it seems to only load if there is a connect at the start of the track even if the track its self is cached.

Hi there still seems to be issues with artwork resolution. Please see attached picture. The header is really HQ but the list image and lock screen are quite LQ

When artwork displayed for a list item, it displayed at 64 pixels. I will change this to use screen resolution ratio to calculate optimal size of artwork in pixels.
When artwork is displayed on the lock screen, id displayed at 300 to 500 pix. |

That would be awesome, is it the same for the widget?. Could you also increase the lock screen res for HD devices please?

Lock screen is already displayed at maximum possible. Usually artwork stored in tags or in the folder where song is stored is between 300 and 600 pix. When it is stretched on the lock screen, it always will be pixelated. Some players, such as Google Play, store different resolutions for the artwork on their servers and get much higher quality artwork, while Muzecast does not have this kind of database of artwork. Google Service, which is exposing artwork to 3rd party application also is limited to 300 or 600 pixels and does not give higher resolution artwork.
I will continue looking into this and see what can be done. |
