Hi,
Just spent the last four weeks letting my server analyze all my tracks (81000) which finished a couple of days ago.
Approximately 500 or so were unmixable. I think these are mostly short 'Jingle' tracks so no big deal as I'm not looking to add jingles to my mixes. Although that might be quite cool.
The problem I'm having ids that today I added 4 tracks to my PC library.
Muzecast has now restarted the analyze process and says that there are 5600 tracks to analyze.
My poor missus has put up with the pc slowing down every half an outr or so for the last month as my pc works 244 hours a day to analyze all the tracks and now it's doing it again.
Is there any chance the analysys process could find 'new' or changed tracks only to analyze?
Excellent software by the way!
Regards

Hello.
Our records indicate that you have about 600 songs which are un-mixable and folder scan has finished scanning. The number you mentioned is from internal in-memory database, which was not yet updated/refreshed. What do you see now. Does it show correct number of un-mixable songs (songs to analyze)? |
Thank you.

Hi,
Bizarrely enough, we had a power outage last night while we were out so I've just restarted my PC.
Muzecast played ofr a bit and then I have:
Total Songs 81782 Mixable Songs 81199 Songs to Analyze 583 Total Songs 81782
This is just about right as far as I can tell.
I'll report back next time I add some tracks to the database. Maybe it was just having a funny half hour...
Cheers
Gary
PS - loving the Decade Lock on mixes - any chance of expanding this to a Year lock?

Hi,
More information - you may say this is as expected.
Yesterday I added about 100 tracks to my collection and the analyzer has been going ever since. It looks as if the system realises there are more tracks than when it last looked and then goes through every track to see if it needs analyzing.
It's still going now 14 hours later.
Regards
Gary

Are you using "Create Mix" feature? If yes, Is it set to "Radio mode"?
For "Radio Mode" mixes, you can set Analyzer to a mode "Fast" in Muzecast COnfigurator. Radio Mode does not use song analysis, it is using song tag information.

Did you have older version of Muzecast Server before last night?
If yes...
Muzecast software updated itself to a latest release 5.5.0. Somewhere between the version you had and version 5.5.0, there was a change to Muzecast Internal Database, which required to re-analyze all songs and create new records. This process will be faster that it was before. |
Thank you.

Hi,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
It is on 5.5.0 and I think I upgraded practically as soon as it was available...
I'll keep an eye.

Hi,
Added about 90 tracks.
Analyzer's now been working since last night.
Although it's not analyzing many tracks (a few at a time instead of previously about 50 at a time) it's still going. Says it has 39000 of my 8100 dtill to do - 9% complete.
I really think it would be better if the software could scan through to find which are the new/changed files and work on just those rather than (as it seems) trawling through my entire collection and checking every one out?
Or am I missing something. Just seems that there is always something going on in the analyzer.
I am always adding tracks r, potentially, changing tags in y collection.
Cheers
Regards
Gary
