This is horribly difficult app to configure. I installed Soundwire and was up and streaming in 2 minutes and this HomeDJ already wasted my hour. I have the server installed and running. Android phone connects and can play songs from the phone itself. But I was looking to play in PC and stream to the phone similar to Soundwire. I'm about to uninstall it and give one star to HomeDJ but wanted to see if there is something I missed. Edited by user Friday, May 2, 2014 5:59:05 PM(UTC)

HomeDJ is not the same as Soundwire.
HomeDJ plays music files located on your PC by downloading these files from PC to Android and playing locally on Android device.
Once HomeDJ Server is installed and folders are configured in HomeDJ Configurator, you can access your files located on PC using HomeDJ Android application.
You can browser by artist, genre, album, folder.
Were you able to see your songs using HomeDJ and play your songs using HomeDJ? |

Yes, I can see and play PC songs from android phone. I was thinking it can stream. It's useful though. I don't have to store all songs in the phone. Okay, I'll use it when I need to access songs from phone and use something else to stream. thanks Edited by user Saturday, May 3, 2014 5:29:00 AM(UTC)

You can go to setting of HomeDJ
Settings->Download and Cache->Disable Cache (CHECK ON)
In that case it will stream and will not save songs on the phone.
