Hi there.

I created a playlist in muzecast, now its stored on C:\Muzecast\Playlists\M3U _and_ WPL folder, under my username..

Anyhows, i opened this playlist in VLC, deleted some songs from it, ran a update on my phone. Nothing happend to the playlist on my phone. Songs still gone on PC.

Ran a folderscan. Now the songs are back in the playlist on the computer...

What am i missing?
I added C:\Muzecast\Playlists to the folder list, should this be nessesary? (I think this is when the songs reappeard on my computer..)

Or can i only edit the playlist on my phone... ?

Edit:

Sorry, wrong category. Has nothing to do with the forums... Please move... :/

Edit2: To simplify:

Can i make a playlist on my computer, (in mediamonkey) and stream the content to my phone?

These playlists are synchronized only one way: from phone/tablet to computer. You can edit playlist on your device (phone/tablet).

Are you using Phone/Tablet or FireTV?
Thank you.

For more details:

Playlist is placed in C:\Muzecast\Playlists\mediamonkey.m3u

Music is on Z:\Musikk\Flac\<loadsofdirectorys>\

Filepath in the playlist is Z:\Musikk\Flac\<randomfolder>\<randomsong.flac>

Z:\ is a NAS networkdrive.

Folders in Folder list:

\\192.168.XXX.XXX\<sharename>\Musikk\Flac
\\192.168.XXX.XXX\<sharename>\Musikk\MP3
C:\Muzecast\Playlists

(Could it have something to do with the 192. in stead of Z:\ ? )

Thanks for looking into it. Really love the software!

Edit:

Folders added via:
Add-> My computer-> Z:\ -> Musikk -> mark a folder.

C:\Muzecast\Playlists folder is for saving playlists created on your phone.

if you place mediamonkey.m3u file in any folder, which is in Folder List, it will be imported into Muzecast and you will see it in the Playlist screen "IMPORTED" tab after you run folder scan.
Thank you.

You have to remove "C:\Muzecast\Playlists" from Folder List and leave it only in the section called: "Save playlists in this folder"

Thank you.

Here is an example when playlist edit on PC will be sent to Phone.

Create playlist on your PC and place this playlist in the folder, which is part of Folder List in Configurator.
Example:

Playlist is located D:\Music\Pink Floyd\The Wall folder
Playlist Content:
song1.mp3
song2.mp3
song3.mp3

When Muzecast scans this playlist, it will search for files:
D:\Music\Pink Floyd\The Wall\song1.mp3
D:\Music\Pink Floyd\The Wall\song2.mp3
D:\Music\Pink Floyd\The Wall\song3.mp3

If you move this playlist into another folder but keep files in D:\Music\Pink Floyd\The Wall folder, Muzecast will not be able to find files. Therefore this playlist will not be imported. The reason is that playlist does not specify full path to a song and Muzecast only will look for these files in the folder where playlist is located.

Now. If playlist has Full path to a song, you can move around that playlist to any other folder and Muzecast will recognize that playlist.

Once Muzecast recognized playlist, it will appear in IMPORTED tab of Playlists screen.

Does content of playlist you are trying to import have full path to songs or relative path to playlist location?
If relative, are all or at least one song of the playlist located in the same folder where playlist is located?

Thank you.

Tested:

Copyed some music to E:\Testfolder (Not shared in folder list)
Made a playlist with those songs.

Playlist placed in E:\Muzecast playlist (shared in folderlist)

Works like a charm....
(Playlist filepath: E:\Testfolder\04-jean_michel_jarre-chronologie_part_4.flac)

I still think my problem have something to do with music beeing on a network drive.

Folderlist in muzecast showing \\192.168.0.X\<SHARENAME>\Musikk\Flac (even tho i added via browsing My computer-Z-musikk-<selected folder FLAC>

Playlist that dont work, showing music placed in Z:\Musikk\Flac\...\...\

(Playlist filepath: Z:\Musikk\Flac\Jean_Michel_Jarre-Chronologie-CD-FLAC-1993-FRAY\04-jean_michel_jarre-chronologie_part_4.flac)

So how to get folderlist to show Z:\ in stead of \\192.168 ?

Ok. I see what is the problem.

Muzecast translate all network drives to UNC path, such as \\ServerName\ShareName\...folder
In your case it is just an IP address.

Could you create playlist with songs not from Z: drive, but open shared folder by typing \\ip address\share name in Windows Folder browser?

In that case it should match.

Why Muzecast translates Mapped drive to UNC? This is because in most cases Muzecast runs not under your Windows account, but under Windows build in SYSTEM account. That account will not have any configuration about mapped drive and will not be able to find Z: drive.

Thank you.

Aha.. No workaround for that?

Not that it matters now, i think. Seems like mediamonkey can add a network location in stead of a network drive. Ill do some testing and get back to you. :)

Working perfect now. Thanks. :)

I will take a look if it is possible to resolve Z: drive into a network UNC path while performing folder scan and matching song path to a file.

When I find a solution for this, I will post a fix.
Thank you.
