Google assistant now works differently, when using other players to play music. You have to explicitly tell Assistant what app to use. For example: Play <some name> on Muzecast. Unfortunately Google does not recognize pronunciation of Muzecast and constantly trying to search for Newscast. That is why I am in process if renaming Muzecast to another name and waiting for Google to index new name for search.

Probably new name will be: XanGo Player.

Ok.

Looks like Google Assistant now recognizes keyword "Xango Player" and opens Muzecast (for now)

You can try this: Let's say you want to play ABBA using Muzecast. You can say to Google Assistant:

Play ABBA on Xango Player.

Assistant should reply: Ok. Playing ABBA on Muzecast and will shuffle ABBA using Muzecast and will start playback.

You can try and let me know if it worked for you. I tried on Oreo device and it worked. If not, may be need wait a little longer for Google to finish indexing Xango Player worldwide.

I think I found a trick how to let Google Assistant to recognize Muzecast as default player.

1. Install Android Auto.
2. Once installed, open Android Auto;
3. On Android Auto Screen click Headphone icon.
4. It should display multiple players one of which will be Muzecast;
5. Select Muzecast
6. Start some playback;
7. Click Microphone icon and tell to play something like: Play Depp Purple.
8. Android Auto should response: Ok, Asking to play Deep Purple on Muzecast;
9. Playback should start from Muzecast;
10. Close Android Auto;
11. Bring Google Assistant by voice or long hold Home Button.
12. Now you can tell the same thing: Play Abba.
13. You do not have to tell on which player to play.
14. Assistant should response: Ok, Asking to play Abba on Muzecast.

From this point, any ask to play something will bring Muzecast.
Thank you.
