Try to create new user account (Type Administrator) and install HomeDJ once you are logged in under a new user.
Thank you.

Tried making a new account without any luck also. Brought it to best buy, and geek squad failed to figure it out. Is there anything else you can think of to fix this?

Are you saying that even creation of a Windows account failed? Or you created new account and tried to install HomeDJ and it failed again?

What is failing from error log you sent to the last action HomeDJ Installer is trying to executed: Vorlan.HomeDJ.WinSrv.exe

Are you running any Antivirus? If yes, try to disable for a duration of installation, then you can enable it.
Thank you.

BTW.

When you downloaded and extracted zip file:
http://www.homedj.net/Download/4.1.6/homedj.zip

You do not have to run installer again.

Just unzip that file into, let's say, C:\HomeDJ folder.

Then from that folder start HomeDJ Configurator: Vorlan.HomeDJ.Configurator.exe
Start it as Administrator:
right mouse click on Vorlan.HomeDJ.Configurator.exe and from popup menu select Run as administrator.

Once Configurator is opened, complete the wizard.

Let me know if you were able to run Configurator that way.
Thank you.

Looks like you did not try to run Configurator.

Please try as I mentioned before:
1. Download zip file.
2. Unzip content of that zip file into C:\HomeDJ folder.
3. Navigate to that folder.
4. Right mouse click on Vorlan.HomeDJ.Configurator
5. Select "Run as administrator";
6. HomeDJ Configurator should open.

Do not run installer at any point here.

Did you run HomeDJ on the same computer before?
Did you restore Operating System on the same hardware?

Somehow home dj was lost during the restore though. Only thing I lost was this program. I don't know how it wasn't installed still when I did the restore. Every other application was saved except for yours.

Let's try the following:

First we will uninstall Microsoft .NET 4.0
1. Open Control Panel
2. Click Programs and Features
3. In the list find the following:

Programs and Features

4. Uninstall both highlighted items

Next we will uninstall Microsoft .NET 3.5

5. While you are in the Programs and Features, click the link on the left as highlighted below:

Features

6. It will show this window:

35

7. Uncheck highlighted item and click OK
8. Reboot your computer.

9. After Computer boots, Open Program and Features again and go to "Turn Windows features on or off
Install 35
10. Now CHECK Highlighted item ON the way it is shown on image above.
11. If it will ask you to reboot, then reboot.
12. Now open browser and go to the http://www.homedj.net
13. Navigate to Download Server link and click it.
14. When prompted either to Run or Save HomeDJInstall.exe, click Run.
15. Follow installation wizard.

Hope it will finish successfully this time.
Thank you.

I have to research on this one and see why even Microsoft software cannot be installed.

Looks like OS restore did not go well and some components of OS are out of sync.

Just a few question: is there any chance you can just perform fresh install of OS and re-install all application you had before computer crashed?

What kind of program do you use for backup/restore?
Thank you.
