It looks like I found the issue on some devices. Had to break my Note 3 with bad root to get similar behavior. All of the sudden my Note stopped working after I applied a few mods to the ROM and it start skipping songs after downloading only around 100-200 kb without any change to Player code and Server code. Now I got it working and saw what error was popping up.
I have a fix and will post it as soon as I test it on all devices and emulators I have. I need 3-4 of hours for testing. |

Update,
after uninstalled Stream Server, i went to download the Stream Server HomeDJInstall.EXE
and try to install it again.
after the installer started to download the packages my antivirus blocked and terminated the
installation process. saying that this installer contains virus.. (i'm using avast antivirus)
i disabled avast and continue the installation.
after installed, i re-activate avast to see what it will say.
avast detects C:\HomeDJ\converters\converter.exe as virus and move it to chest.
just confirm this was the culprit, i've tried to play music from my android devices.
and the error was the same.
so i add converter.exe to avast exclude list and put converter.exe back to the original place.
tested again and all was fine!
(tested with all of my android devices, works)
for my case, answer is due to antivirus removing converter.exe,
stream server fail to convert/stream the music file.
hope this solution works for others.

I am using Microsoft Security Essentials, no problems with that. HomeDJ works on my phone (SGS3 4.1.2 rooted), but not on my tablet... I'll reinstall the steam server later today... EDIT: Just reinstalled the steam server on my pc. No problems reinstalling, but no change to my problem. Same errors on my tablet. I think the problem is the HumberOS version of CM... Same problem, same error log.
Have you tried the HumberOS version of the CM on your device?

This is probably the next I have to try.
I see people reported that even YouTube did not work on HumberOS.
And also it is for devices, I do not have yet. So I have to figure out how to test it on this OS.

It seems that I am the only one with this problem. And I am quite sure the problem is the HumberOS.
So I am a bit ashamed to bother You so much...
I just can't change to the stock rom, because its bluetooth doesn't work right. (common problem on the 2.0 Android) And I can't use the standard CM, because it doesn't send audio through dock port connection. I need these feature, because the tablet is docked to my car...
But thank You for working so hard on this.

I have Poweramp installed, and it plays songs just fine. Even those that HomeDJ downloaded.

I downloaded an album that has 3 song. Then in offline I go to that album and press play. The player appears and I can see, that there are song 3/3, and then player goes away. And I am back in the album view. No playback.
Same error log.
Poweramp can play this album.

I will try a few more ideas. Once I put them together I will send you directly APK file to install. It is going to be free version though, but at least if those ideas would help I will publish it to the Market. |

I am having the same issue as OP on my CM10.2 tablet, also with cache disabled and streaming options set as suggested.
No issues on my Samsung Galaxy SIII with 4.1.2 however.

I am trying to find the way to re-create this issue. I have CM 10.2 installed on Galaxy S III as well as on Kindle Fire. No issues, so I will try other devices I have in hand with CM 10.2. But I am trying Native CM ROM. May be should try some flavors, but hope to find real cause before that.

Anything new on this?
HumberOS is the problem, but he is not making updates anymore...
I hope CM gets the dock port working properly, so I can keep using Jellybean on my tab.

I am trying to find device I can play with and install this OS. Meanwhile I started to implement Themes and another attempt to fix the issue you are having will be in that release. But since I had to re-do a lot of code, it has to go through intensive testing which might take a couple of weeks.
