Hello,

my music collection has more than 85000 tracks encoded in FLAC.
99% of them are fingerprinted with MusicIpserver and the fingerprints are archived in the tracks' metadatas. They are all declared mixable by MusicIp tools
Mp3Tag and other softwares read the tags in the metadatas.

When Muzecast scan and analyze the same collection, using the same tools for fingerprinting, the number of tracks found is the same but less than 50% of them is declared mixable. Client side Muzecast gives an error message "operation failure" when you ask for a mix on all the remaining tracks.

Having no explanation for these results I made a test limiting the collection to 3 tracks. MusicIP declares all of them as "mixable" and HomeDJ find one mixable and the two tracks left as non-mixable.
The test has been done on the original tracks and then on the renamed, converted to Mp3 extracts HomeDj 's scan process creates inside the "MyLibrary" folder.

Do you have an idea of what is running wrong ?
I can give you a link where you can get the 3 tracks used for the test and try the same approach to find what is wrong, but I am sure that you can reproduce the same test with MusicIp fingerprinted tracks of your own.

Thanks in advance for your answer.

EDIT :

Going further with my tests : taking the same 3 tracks and maybe also if extended to all tracks : if you delete the fingerprints left by MusicIp in tracks ' tags, Homedj analyser does the job as expected, analysing with musicIp and then declares all tracks "mixable"

I had only a few samples of tracks (FLAC) which embedded Music IP tags in it. I am aware that some FLAC files have tags encoded different by MusicIP. I would like to get a hold of one of the tracks you have, which were not recognized.
Thank you.

Thank you for files.

I found the root cause of it and have a fix. After some more testing I will publish it over night.

Thanks a lot.
I have tried with some fingerprinted flacs and it seems to be ok.
I have launched the whole library scan/analyse.
First impressions are positive : the right number of mixable tracks.
I will wait until the end of whole process and give you a feedback.

Best regards,

Bravo ! you fix it. All flac tracks analysed by MusicIp are directly declared as mixable in homeDj also.

I have 2 more questions about the scan/analyze process :

what is the purpose of the step called "finalizing". It 's a very long and cpu consuming step.

Why does the "analyzing replay gain" never complete and stops around 66%.

The last question is about the mix playlists : where are they stored ? I can't see them in the folder declared in the configurator.

Thank you again for your bug fixing in the scan process.

Regards,

Analyzing at the end of the scan is creation of Muzecast fingerprints for each song. You can stop it. It will not affect mixes. This is just for Muzecast to have its own fingerprint to recognize song.
This step is running on lowest priority and if there is another task should be run on this computer, it will pause analysing step.

ReplayGain should not stop as you said. It is analysing picks for each song to equalize the volume. If it is still running, let me know and I will analyze if there are any errors reported by this process.

Playlists are stored on your computer only if it was saved on your device and Synchronization of playlists is enabled on your device.
Thank you.

Ok for the finalizing step.
The replayGain progressBar with ffmpeg running, stays a long time active after the end of the the last track. This is why I thought it was never ending.

I still do not understand the process of synchronizing the playlists. Of course, they have been saved on the device and synchronization is enabled. On the server I have only some of them and they are empty : only the names of the playlists.
a complementary question : where are they stored on the device ?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Fantastic ! everything is working fine and all palylists and their content are synchronized to the server.
Thanks again for the quick fixes for the scan and synchronization issues.

Congratulations again for the best music streaming app, I have seen, on Android devices.
If the server software was able to act as UpnP / dlna server and expose most of the ways to listen to music (especially the smart mix algorithm ) of Muzecast android version this piece of software would be very close to perfect !
