I've been using muzecast for several months now. Now since I've updated, my scan will not recognize songs and the physical memory goes up to about 95 percent. I've tried startup both ways. I've ran disk check. I've uninstalled muzecast and my pc works fine... When I reinstall it, I get issues. Help please.

What is the total physical memory your computer has?

Do you use "Create Mix" feature?
Thank you.

I'm not sure how to check how much physical memory I have. But it says I have 4096 of ram...processor is a i5 2.53... Like I said, I've been using this for a while. The issue did arise intitally when I was creating a playlist with all my music in Itunes, for dj purposes.

4 GB of RAM is plenty to run Muzecast and support about a million of songs.

Muzecast is using the following executable when running:
Vorlan.HomeDJ.WinSrv
Vorlan.HomeDJ.Server
Vorlan.HomeDJ.SysTray
MagicMusicServer - 2 instances - one instance for running song analysis. another instance for creating mixes;

Vorlan.HomeDJ.ReplayGain - it is running only when there are new songs added and were not yet analyzed for peak volume.

When Folder scan is running the following processes you might see running:
libscan - Muzecast folder scan main process
Vorlan.HomeDJ.DbSave - saving collected metadata in database
Vorlan.HomeDJ.FingerPrint - fingerprinting each song.
mipcore - Music IP song analyzer; depends on number of threads selected. One per each thread.

Memory utilization by each process:
Vorlan.HomeDJ.WinSrv - 15 MB;
Vorlan.HomeDJ.Server - 25-30 MB;
Vorlan.HomeDJ.SysTray - 9 MB
MagicMusicServer - mix creator depends on number of songs. Usually it is 512 bytes per song
MagicMusicServer - analyzer - 25 MB
Vorlan.HomeDJ.ReplayGain - depends on number of songs. Should be around 1500 bytes per song;
Vorlan.HomeDJ.DbSave - depends on number of songs and should be around 512 bytes per song;
Vorlan.HomeDJ.FingerPrint - depends on number of songs and should be around 1000 bytes per file;
mipcore - 20-30 MB

Please take a look in Windows Task Manager "Processes" tab and see which Muzecast process takes a lot of memory. It might be that other processes and not Muzecast is occupying your memory.

Please let me know your findings.

Thank you.

If you are running Muzecast in the Startup mode: Start when computer boots, you might not see Muzecast processes in the Task Manager , because they are running under SYSTEM account.

There should be button or checkbox below Processes list to see "Show processes for all users". Click it and order list by "Memory (Private Worker Set)"
Thank you.

I've checked it before and haven't seen it using a lot of high numbers in the processes. When the physical memory goes high, its hard to even get task manager up...usually takes about 2 minutes for task manager to load up. I just installed muzecast to tell you what I found...right now:

Vorlan.homedj.configurator: 27,342k

HDJSERIESCPL.EXE:4,132K

HDJSERIES2TRAYBAR.EXE 3,576

HDJSERIES2CPL.EXE: 3,016
These are the only associated processes that I see. NOw that i have installed and checked...physical memory is at 60 percent from 40 percent and continuing to go up. I'll have to reset, and uninstall for the pc to act normal.

Do you mean 3 GB? That is not normal. I have to analyze where it could loop itself out into this.

If it is ok with you, could you delete folder called: Libraries under Muzecast installation folder and rescan your folders from scratch?

for example of Muzecast is installed in C:\Muzecast then delete folder C:\Muzecast\Libraries
Thank you.

Looks like file called "index.txt" located in Muzecast installation folder "Libraries\MyLibrary" might be corrupted. If you have not deleted that folder yet, could you let me know size of the file called "index.txt"?
Thank you.
