Hello again,
I already e-mailed you this question, but i thought I would post it on the forum in case another user encounters this problem and it might help them with a fix to the issue. I notice the songs do not start immediately and it takes quite a bit of time for them to start. Is this normal or is there a fix to this issue? I believe it is because the song needs to download first before playback. is that correct oris there something that can be done to fix this? Thanks again.

I already done something to help playback start quickly in latest version of the player 3.4.3. What version do you have installed on your Android device?

Before it had to download at least 2-3 MB of the song to start playback. Now it starts as soon as first 200-500 KB is downloaded and will keep playing while downloading.

Why does it still take some time to start?

First of all it has to start conversion of the original file. If it is FLAC or WAV it might take about 2-3 seconds to convert first 200-500 KBs of the song depending on a processing power of you Home Computer. Then it has to send it to your device, which might take time depending on the fact that it has to go though the Internet multiple hubs. I am working on next portion to improve playback startup to minimize this time as well.

Why Audiogalaxy startup was much quicker? Because AudioGalaxy most of the time did not use the file located on your home computer, instead it used file from their servers, which matched IdTags and instead of playing your file, it played their version of the file. It is not all the time, but in most cases. The same for ITunes, Google Play. They have the licensing rights to do that.

Also I am working to eliminate conversion of your source file if it is MP3 and Player Streaming option is set to stream in OGG. So instead it will stream your original file without conversion if bitrate of your file satisfies Sound Quality your selected in the player, otherwise it still be converted.

For example if you selected Sound Quality "Optimal", this would mean that streaming bitrate will be about 160 Kbs. If your original file is the same bitrate or below, it will not be converted and will be send directly to your device. Playback will start within 1-2 seconds. But if your file bitrate is greater that 160 KBs, it will be converted to OGG or MP3 (depends on the streaming option you selected) to downsample it to 160 Kbs and converted data will be sent to your device, while it is still converting it. Playback will start within 2-4 seconds.

So there is still room to improve playback startup time, and I have it on my task list.
Thank you.

Okay understood. I do have version 3.4.3 for the app and running Jelly Bean 4.1.1 for Android software. Hearing your explanation makes sense. I might mess with the settings to see if that is what is causing the delay. Thank you for your reply
