Hey all.

I've had home DJ/Muzexast for a while now, after trying other software that streams my personal library to my devices and found his to be the best. Everything worked well. I clicked on "Full" analyze and let it crunch through the 125,000 songs I have. It found 90,000 that it liked and 35,000 to "Analyze".

A week later it finished. Took about 20 gig uploading bandwidth too. The Mix function works great and I'm happy as could be. 5.0.0 was great.

Forward to this week. Upgraded to 5.0.1 and now have to completely rescan my library. Another 33,000 songs to re-analyze.

Is that normal?

Thank you.

Usually it is not normal, unless internal database upgrade is required. Going from 5.0.0 to 5.0.1 did not require that.

Did you install in the same folder you had it installed before?

Once you ran Full scan and it finished, next time Muzecast needs to rescan to upgrade internal database, it should take much less time, because analysis Muzecast is performing is already done and it will just retrieve these analysis from backup based on the song fingerprint.
Thank you.

Thanks for the quick response!

After you asked about the folder location I did some looking. I assumed that, since I was previously running 5.0.0, the default folder would be the same as the previously installed version. I clued in sfter that I've been running since HomeDJ and THAT was where was where 5.0.0 was running from. I now have a brand new Muzecast folder made Dec 23/14. That would explain things.

I'll probably just let it run out since I'm hoping there won't be any more name changes. 😄
