I've just updated to the latest version (3.6.7) on both my Nexus 4 & 7 and now HomeDJ is no longer streaming.
I'm able to browse my songs, view artwork , even browse folders, but when I select a song it does not begin streaming.
The error log is empty as well.
I have stopped and restarted the server (3.2.9) but this hasn't helped.

Any suggestions?

EDIT: player thread count is showing as "0"

Have you updated some Android Internet Security app on your devices?

You are connected using direct mode and your phone should be able to access your computer directly using the port you configured.

But...

It looks like some security software on your device it is blocking your port. It has been reported by some users too and it was not related to any specific version of HomeDJ Player.

Lately a lot of Internet Security software started blocking outbound ports of non-well-known ports.

Well-known ports are something like: 21, 23, 80,443, 8080, or some other ports below 10000.

If you have port 80 used by some other software, try to use port 21, or 23, or 8080.

Could you try either to configure port 80, or tick checkbox: "Do not configure firewall" ON and see if you will be able to stream.

I did not see any errors on my end either.

I tested several devices using all modes: Direct, Proxy, Downloading/Streaming. All modes were working.

Please let me know if none of the suggestions helped.
Thank you.

Hi Oleg,
See my replies below...

Not that I'm aware of. I use Lookout. I also don't use automatic updates, so I would have remembered if it had requested updating.

I have a unique port configured and set in NAT on my router. Obviously this has worked in the past.
The "Do not configure Firewall" checkbox was not ticked. I have now ticked it.

Update
In an effort to fix this I rebooted all my devices and then set the HomeDJ server to rescan my folders (Normal mode).
Instead of seeing 84,000 songs the app only listed about 100.
When I tried to play these the first track did not play, but on selecting the next track, it began playing. So streaming seems to be working again.
I tried indexing a second time - this time it listed about 600 songs.
I've now tried indexing for a third time and it's only listed 244 songs.
It seems that scanning is failing for some reason

Ok.

What about windows box. Did you have any Microsoft updates installed?
What user name HomeDJ Service is running under? Is it Local System, or muzecastService?
If it is muzecastService, could you re-install HomeDJ and select Local System Account during installation, or you can just go to Services and open Properties of HomeDJ Service and change Log On Tab to use Local System instead of MuzecastService.

Also you might have better picture by looking in Event Log of you computer. I do not have this information. HomeDJ is logging all errors, but I do not see any reports on my end.

I did make a change - I flipped the flag indicating that you computer will try to use Proxy Mode and will work over port 80 instead. This is temporary and only effects your ability to stream or download, and looks like you were able to. So my guess that something is blocking your port on your Android device might be close to the right one.

Thank you.

It looks like HomeDJ sees all you tracks when scanning, but when it sends it sends only about 136 tracks.
Could you run libscan.exe from command like:

C:
CD \HomeDJ
libscan

I will investigate libscan issue in more details. This is strange, because there was nothing changed in the code. But I will put more checks into it to detect what else went wrong.
Thank you.

Yes, it looks like libscan has an issue when there some files have uncommon characters. I was filtering as much as possible, but looks like there could be more unrecognized characters. Those characters are invisible and might be in song tags.
If you did not add new songs lately, then it is just a speculation.
I do not see errors reported. I will work on libscan more to make it more immune to invalid characters.
Did manual run of libscan help at any way?
Thank you.

No, not that I can remember - usually MS updates come through on 2nd Tuesday of each month, so those were all completed at least a week ago

Event viewer is not showing anything that might help - at least, not that I could find. There are quite a few errors where it is having problems reading headers - but with 84000 tracks I would expect that

No, I haven't added any tracks recently.

Libscan is going loopy, scrolling loads or red error messages, too fast to read.

Ok. Errors in Console window in RED are errors while trying to convert WMA file which is DRM protected. It is normal.
What is not normal that libscan failed to read out.xml file properly to generate complete information about all your tracks to be updated.
If you still have out.xml file in C:\HomeDJ folder, could you zip it and send it to me?
Also could you zip and send default.m3lib file, and I will analyze each song metadata to see what kind of character is causing this serious issue.
I jumped on this issue and I am sure it will be resolved by end of the day Eastern time.

My apologies for inconvenience it is causing for you.
Thank you.

Currently testing the fix....

Please download attache file:
libscan.zip

Unzip it to C:\HomeDJ folder
You will find libscan.zzz file there.
Rename libscan.exe to libscan.bak
Command:

C:
cd \HomeDJ
ren libscan.exe libscan.bak
ren libsan.zzz libscan.exe

Run libscan again.

File Attachment(s):
libscan.zip (1,254kb) downloaded 3 time(s).

You cannot view/download attachments. Try to login or register.
Thank you.

I applied patch over standard autoupdate process. You do not have to copy the file I mentioned above.

Thanks very much for working on this and for explaining the red errors.
Sadly I have run the new libscan that you attached but this is also failing.

I'm happy to send you a zip of my default.m3lib file, but I don't want to attach it to a public forum. How do I attach it to a PM?

Nevermind, I have just emailed it to vorlan.homedj@gmail.com

EDIT: unfortunately I could not find "out.xml"

The issue is fixed. It looks like you are getting all tracks.

I minor issue left is has is case sensitive and it is used to generate local file names. I have to make them case insensitive.
